Modern Warfare 2 Dual Wielding

October 6th, 2009 | 6 Comments | Posted in Game Details

modern-warfare-2-dual-wieldingIf you’ve been gaming for a fairly long time, and by long time we mean that you’ve played a number of different first person games, then you’ll know the joys of playing with dual side arms. Games like Goldeneye and Counter Strike are famous for having this ability, and they’re one of the most enjoyable ways to use a weapon, ever. Counter Strike fans will know that the Dual Elites are notoriously inaccurate, and never really do a particularly good job of killing your opponent. However, they are unbelievably cool to play with, (the reload action alone makes it worthwhile), so they remain popular. Even though much older, Goldeneye had a more advanced take on dual weapons, since you could use automatic weapons instead of just pistols. This made for a pretty incredible and deadly combination. The latest instalment of the Call of Duty series has made waves over the last few weeks for reportedly offering this exact ability, possible as a perk to a character.

This is a pretty mouth-watering prospect given the depth of weaponry and incredible graphics that Modern Warfare 2 are reportedly about to unleash onto our screens. So far, very little is known about the dual wielding capabilities of Modern Warfare 2, but it definitely looks possible given that it was seen in a gameplay demo shown at GameCrazy convention. So far, we’ve seen dual Desert Eagles being used, so it remains to be seen what other weapons will also have this capability.

This has added yet another element of excitement to the release of Modern Warfare 2, which looks set to be one of the biggest games of the year, if not the decade.

Modern Warfare 2 Perks

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is the latest release from Activision and Infinity Ward; it has been hugely hyped over the last few months and fans are eagerly anticipating its release. The most recent news that we’ve been able to acquire for this game comes in the form of the Perks list. Activision have kept the perks list relatively similar to previous games, whilst also adding some newer perks which should add an extra element to the gameplay. One thing that has been added for this latest release is the ability to upgrade standard perks into a “pro” ability, which potentially gives a new modern-warfare-2-perksfeature to the perk. This means that even more things can be customized about your character and definitely shows that various things are going to be important parts of gameplay for the characters.

Modern Warfare 2 looks set to move forward another generation, graphically speaking. This means that we should see an even more flexible world that will interact with our characters in new and exciting ways. It will be interesting to see how the new perks list and the “pro” abilities will affect our interaction with the world. One thing which some people are concerned about is the loss of usability, and the simple “pick up and play” nature that has made them so popular and it remains to be seen whether the game stays true to this. It is unlikely however for Activision and Infinity Ward to make drastic changes to a winning formula, and it certainly looks that way if you take a look at the Modern Warfare 2 perks list, which just looks like slight changes rather than major alterations.

Modern Warfare 2 Exclusive DLC

September 28th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Game Details

modern_warfare_2-snowInfinity Ward showed off its great game and revealed fresh details.

There’s a lot to talk about what happened at the Microsoft Press Conference in LA. Journalists came to know about Modern Warfare 2’s broad demo.

Trust me! It was a classic ice climbing sight where the player dives of a cliff while holding 2 ice picks. You see the virtual world where you slide down some kind of ledge and finally jumble up that cliff with some help from a partner.

But the producers had more announcements to make.

When Modern Warfare 2 is launched, Xbox 360 users would get access to some elite add-ons for the game. This particular DLC would come with 2 maps for Modern Warfare 2 – especially on the Xbox Live. But we still need much more details on this game. So here are some more…

In the game you and the Soap are supposed to penetrate a Russian airstrip high on a wintry mountain range. You’re there for getting yourself some data off a broken satellite. This level starts with ice climbing (you need to hold down your right trigger for planting the ice picks over the glaciers).

Some mountains are hairy. And when your picks cannot pierce the ice, you’ll find yourself steadily falling. But that should not be a problem if you’re determined to get atop that beautiful cliff.

Your next job is to navigate through that blinded snowstorm, while keeping away from Russian patrols. You have your ammos with you all the time. You carry a silenced piece of assault rifle that comes equipped with some sort of heartbeat sensors that are attached to your sides. At a stage, you’ll feel it has some similarity with James Cameron’s Aliens.

Modern Warfare 2: Things to expect and things not to

September 24th, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Game Details

modern-warfare-2-picThis game was announced just a few months ago and was backed by a great trailer. On the first thought, this one is supposed to bring lots of thrill. The trailer however was less effective in getting people to the light about this game. Infinity Ward is a master at keeping you in darkness. However, these game makers revealed some insight on the game only after they provided the full and formal trailer.

The time of the story is just after the initial Modern Warfare. It was the time when Russia is facing its downturn and causing problems to top leaders around the world. A Russian fanatic organization tries to undermine the region, while making malicious moves to snatch Russia’s weapons’ supply.

Eventually, you find the guy called Makarov, who happens to be the leader of that fanatic organization. As the story starts moving, you see Makarov’s close association with Zakhaev, a mastermind behind a nuclear attack you saw in the previous version of the game.

Conflicting Makarov is the intercontinental anti-terrorist organization named Task Force 141. That group is guided by a character -”Soap” McTavish who was working hard in this game’s original version. The gamer has to work for McTavish, while making smart moves to hold Makarov back from getting to his evil goals.

When you play the game, you come across with a large variety of environments or settings. You’re taken virtually all around the world. You get to visit countries like Russia, Afghanistan, or Brazil.

You will swagger around some large variety of locations. Some are suburban areas, while others are snow-filled mountains. However, the latter one sets a stage for an extraordinary, adrenaline driving snowmobile chase that involves bullets showering all around. But snowflakes are sometimes all the same painful.

This game however has a spectacular mode known as “Special Forces.” It accommodates 2-player joint play, while allowing missions beyond the major campaign.

AC130 achievement on Modern Warfare 2

September 22nd, 2009 | No Comments | Posted in Game Details

Infinity Ward boast the achievement if you get 11 kills one after the other. Recently Infinity Ward tells about its AC130 killstreak achievement on Modern Warfare 2. This marks their first ever and one of a kind achievement that Infinity Ward came up with.modern-warfare-2-ac130

However, they’re really talking about this multiplayer suite within the hi-anticipated first-person shooter. If you see the video posted on YouTube, you get to realize that this company has given the very 1st look at the capacity of their new killstreak.

For the amateur, these ‘killstreak rewards’ are avenues to prize players when they manage to achieve a particular amount of kills consecutively and prior to getting extinct in multiplayer. If you look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, you’ll see that the killstreak of 3 would catch you a recon buzz.

Then again, a band of 5 lets you beckon an airstrike, while a line of 7 lets the player pull in the horrific helicopter gunship. It isn’t clear whether Modern Warfare 2 would manage to keep all those original killstreak rewards. But as far as the video is concerned, you should be able to unlock as well as personalize the killstreak loadout.
